Two men—one in Trinidad and the other in Tobago—have been arrested and charged for committing sexual offences against minors.

A 54-year-old man from Arima and a 21-year-old from Store Bay, Tobago, both were arrested on April 20th, 2020, for their offences.

The Arima man was charged with two counts of Sexual Penetration, one count of Sexual Touching, and one count causing a child to engage in Sexual Touching.

Bail was granted to the accused in the sum of $350,000. He is to have no communication with the minor, and is to appear at the Arima Magistrate’s Court on May 22nd, 2020.

The 21-year-old man from Tobago was charged with one count of sexual penetration of a minor. He is to re-appear before the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on 21st May, 2020.

He was granted $4,000 bail and must report to the Scarborough Police Station twice a week. The Tobago man is to have no communication with the 15-year-old minor.

The arrests were spearheaded by the Child Protection Unit, namely W/Supt. George and ASP Nowbutt and supervised by Inspector Baptiste and Sargent Miller respectively.
