Two men were granted their bail for $5,000 each after they were charged by police for stealing four piglets from a farm in Wallerfield.

Brothers Revanand and Basdeo Bridgemohan of Wallerfield pleaded not guilty when they appeared before Magistrate Gill at the Arima Magistrates’ Court.

Reports indicate that a farmer at Block One Wallerfield had secured his pigs on his farm and went away.

He was later alerted to the sounds of squeals coming from his pen. Upon investigation, he observed two men walking away with four of his pigs in crocus bags.

The farmer raised an alarm and the men dropped the animals and ran off.

The Praedial Larceny Squad was contacted and Corporals Jeffers and Paul responded. The officers were able to apprehend both men after a short search in the area.

The men are expected to reappear in court on February 28th.
