Port of Spain Magistrates' Court, St Vincent Street, Port of Spain.

Two men are expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate on Friday 26 June 2020, to face charges of unlawful possession of car batteries and possession of house breaking implements.

Official police reports state that 34-year-old Roland Whitlock, and 29-year-old Nathan Pierre—both of Trou Macaque Road, Laventille—were charged with the offences by officers of the San Juan Police Station, on Thursday 25th June 2020.

Officers of the San Juan Police Station and Criminal Investigations Department were on mobile patrol along First Street, San Juan, around 3:20 am, on Thursday, when they observed two male suspects in a silver Nissan Tiida motor vehicle.

The vehicle was intercepted, and a search conducted, which resulted in officers finding eight car batteries and house breaking implements in the trunk.

When questioned, the men were unable to give a satisfactory account of where they got the batteries and were arrested in connection with the finds.

They were charged by WPC Lewis attached to San Juan Police Station.

They will appear at the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Courts, tomorrow, Friday 26 June 2020.
