Two men were killed on Monday night following a shooting incident in Champs Fleurs.

Only one of the two victims has been identified by officers as Aaron St Louis.

According to police just around 8 pm officers from the Northern Division Task Force responded to a report of heavy gunfire at Upper Mendez Drive, Champs Fleurs in the vicinity of Hevron Heights Phase 3.

Upon arrival at the corner of Lemon Drive they saw first responders preparing to take St Louis to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

He sustained two gunshot wounds in his chest, two in his upper torso and one in his back. He was later pronounced dead at 9:06 pm while receiving treatment.

The other victim was found several metres away dead on the road. The victim was wearing a grey vest and a light-coloured three-quarter pants. Police said the man, who is yet to be identified, sported a Rasta hairstyle, was heavy built and dark-skinned in complexion.

Police recovered several spent shells around the body.

There was also a vehicle about 30 feet away from the body of the victim.

Police added the door on the driver’s side of the vehicle was open and a bullet hole was seen in it and another in the doorpost.

Investigators found 26 spent 9 mm shells at the scene.

Police are working on the theory that the killings were gang-related.
