Two more deaths, almost 100 new COVID cases

The Ministry of Health is reporting there have been two more deaths from COVID-19—two elderly persons—which brings the national total to 60 deaths.

According to the Ministry’s latest update, the man and woman had pre-existing health conditions.

The Ministry also reports that another ninety-eight (98) additional persons have tested positive for COVID-19, but notes that these are the results from samples taken during the period September 4th to September 16th, 2020, and are not representative of the positive cases over the last 24 hours only.

Also in its latest update today, the Ministry reports the following:

●  The number of active cases in the country now stands at 1,905.

●  There have been six hundred and fifty-five (655) recovered community cases. Recovered community cases refer to persons who were previously COVID-19 positive and in self-isolation at home and subsequently met the discharge criteria and were released from self-isolation.

●  The total number of persons who have been discharged from public health facilities is 814.
