Officers of the Professional Standards Bureau arrested two police officers on June 9th for conspiracy to pervert the course of public justice. According to police reports, the offence was allegedly committed on November 8th, 2019. Sgt. Rajesh Gokool was last attached to the Central Division and has 25 years’ of service. The other officer, Sgt. Ken Ali, was last attached to the Northern Division with 19 years’ service. They both appeared before Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan via a virtual hearing yesterday at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court. Both officers were granted bail in the sum $100,000 with surety. The matter has been postponed to the July 6th, 2020.
