Two repatriated nationals test positive

Two recently repatriated nationals are among 23 new COVID-19 infections confirmed by the Ministry of Health yesterday. According to the ministry’s daily update, the confirmations came from samples collected between January 12 and 14 and brought the total number of people to be infected with the virus locally up to 7,343. The number of people to recover from the virus also increased to 6,913 after the ministry released 17 people from under its care; six people were discharged from public health facilities while 11 were released from home self-isolation as recovered community cases. The total number of infections remaining active now stands at 300.

Within these, 30 were in hospitals, 15 were in step-down/transitional facilities while 232 were in home self-isolation. There were 363 people in state quarantine facilities. Deaths remained at 130. RK
