Two shot in Valencia

Two men, ages 29 and 35 years, were shot while walking along a street in Valencia on Wednesday night.

Two men, ages 29 and 35 years, were shot while walking along a street in Valencia on Wednesday night.

According to a police report, at about 9:40 pm, the two men were walking along Alexander Street in the area behind the Valencia market, when a man walked up to them and opened fire. The gunman then ran away.

Both men attempted to run towards the Valencia Heath Centre; however, on their way there they saw a police vehicle and stopped the officers. The men told the officers what happened.

The police officers then took both victims to the Sangre Grande Hospital for medical attention.

The suspect has been described as being of African descent, slim built and about five feet five inches tall, and dark in complexion. At the time of the shooting incident, the suspect reportedly was wearing a blue coloured jersey, blue coloured face mask and a pair of black pants

Ag/Cpl Jupiter and other officers are investigating.
