Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds received a courtesy call today from High Commissioner for the UK and Northern Ireland to T&T Her Excellency Harriet Cross.
In a press release issued today, ministry officials stated that the meeting presented an opportunity for discussions on border security, policing and prison reform, as well as other significant areas of mutual interest.
High Commissioner Cross congratulated Minister Hinds on his appointment as Minister of National Security, while the Honourable Minister expressed his appreciation for the strength and tenure of the partnership between the Ministry of National Security and the British High Commission in Port of Spain.
Both Minister Hinds and High Commissioner Cross exchanged well wishes on the various policies and initiatives implemented to mitigate the challenges of the COVID-19 health pandemic and reiterated their commitment to provide mutual support.
Also present at the meeting were Deputy British High Commissioner Ms. Tamsin Clayton and Deputy Director, International Affairs Unit, Ministry of National Security, Major (Ret’d) Richard Lynch.
