As the Political Leader to “Unity of The People.” My Executive and I send our warmest congratulations to the Political Leader Mr. Watson Duke of the “ Progressive Democratic Party “ (PDP) and Chief Secretary Designate Mr. Farley Augustine on a stunning election victory and we look forward to seeing good leadership and progress for the rehabilitation and rebuilding of Tobagonians going forward.

The majority of Tobagonians has again demonstrated it’s maturity as a beacon of democracy in the island of Tobago where the core values and the representation of the people of Tobago was not present. As the Political Leader, I am confident that under your party’s governance and promises made to the people of Tobago that your commitment as given to the people will continue to show not only to the PDP supporters democratic freedom , transparency , accountability and equality, but to all the citizens of Tobago despite of party affiliation.

The ability to change governance peacefully by the voters exercising their rights through the ballot box is an essential element in all free multi – party parliamentary democracies. The nation and the people of Tobago have past that test with flying colours. We note with pleasure our congratulations again to your well esteemed Political Party the PDP and wish you great success in the future to come.

In closing I leave you with this quote” Where we are met with cynicism and doubts and those who tell us we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes, We can.
