UWI shuts down St Augustine campus this week

The University of the West Indies (UWI) says that apart from suspending classes, it will now shut down the St Augustine campus this week.

The following is a statement issued by UWI on Sunday:

The health, wellness and safety of all our students and staff and their families remains the priority. We are guided by the updates from the Ministry of Health as well as the Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development from the recent Press Conferences as we continue to monitor COVID-19 nationally. Therefore, in addition to the suspension of classes, the Campus facility will be closed this week.

The internal Incident Management Team (IMT) continues to implement the COVID-19 Response Plan for the Campus. This includes considerations for business community, with many of our staff working virtually from tomorrow, March 16, to allow for critical planning.

Members of the public conducting business with the Campus are encouraged to engage the relevant campus department via email. The Campus Directory can be found online via our website at https://sta.uwi.edu/directory.

Other critical queries can be directed to [email protected].
