Valencia Man Charged with 2018 Murder

A Valencia man is expected to appear before a Sangre Grande Magistrate today, charged with the 2018 murder of Kevin Arrindell.

38-year-old DARRYL BOBBY LALLA, of Quarry Road, Valencia, also was charged with shooting with intent against a male victim, as well as possession of firearm and possession of ammunition.

The charges were laid following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Monday 17th February 2020.

Kevin Arrindell, a 36-year-old farmer, of Cayman Road, Valencia, was in the company of another man at Swan Quarry Road, Valencia, on Tuesday 6th August 2018, when they were approached by a lone gunman who fired several shots at them.

The victim was shot in the back of the head and died at the scene.

The assailant continued shooting at the second victim who ran off. He escaped without injuries.

Darryl Bobby Lalla was arrested in connection with the offences on Wednesday 12th February 2020, by officers of the Sangre Grande Police Station.

Investigations were supervised by ASP Sean Dhillpaul, of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (Region 2).

Lalla, was charged by WPC Cindy Diaz also of HBI Region 2, on Monday 17th February 2020.
