WASA: Disruption to customers served by Aripo and Valsayn plants

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) says that customers served by the Aripo Water Treatment Plant are experiencing a disruption in their pipe borne water supply due to a ruptured 12 inch diameter pipeline resulting in operations at the facility being stopped.

Customers served by the Valsayn High Lift Station are also experiencing a disruption in their pipe borne water supply due to a mechanical problem at the facility.

Emergency repair works are expected to be completed at both plants by 6:00 p.m. on Monday 29th November, 2021. Details follow in this press release from WASA:

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers served by the Aripo Water Treatment Plant, who are presently experiencing a disruption in their pipe borne water supply that, this is due to a ruptured 12 inch diameter pipeline resulting in operations at the facility being stopped. Emergency repair works are expected to be completed by 6:00 p.m. on Monday 29th November, 2021.

Areas affected include: parts of Arima inclusive of Cocorite Road (between Henry Street and Malabar Branch Road), Malabar Road, Malabar Phase 2, Wallerfield, Santa Rosa, Demerara Heights, Pinto Road, Train Line and Smith Lands.

In a separate matter, customers served by the Valsayn High Lift Station who are experiencing a disruption in their pipe borne water supply that, this is due to a mechanical problem at the facility. Emergency repair works currently ongoing are also expected to be completed by 6:00 p.m. on Monday 29th November, 2021.

Areas affected include: parts of St. Joseph, Curepe, St. Augustine and Tunapuna. Customers are further advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the supply to be restored to some affected areas following the completion of repairs. A limited truck borne service will be available upon request.
