After incessant complaints from motorists about traffic jams at Cipero Road, San Fernando, WASA has finally fixed the leaking line which caused part of the road to collapse.

The water leak created a gaping crater on the side of the street which caused single lane traffic.

Over the past week, motorists have been complaining that the pothole was triggering massive traffic pileups.

Desmond Freddy Sankar posted on Facebook, “Crazy traffic from Duncan Village, straight to Victoria Village and onto Retrench Village mainly due to a water leak which caused a pothole on Victoria Village Road. A five-minute drive now turned to a 45-minute drive.”

It took the Guardian Media crew almost an hour to get to Victoria Village, from Golconda.

Upon arriving at the site, a backhoe was filling up the hole and WASA workers were seen fixing the line.
