Wear masks at beach or risk closure again

The Ministry of Health is strongly urging members of the public to adhere to COVID guidelines when attending the beach or risk closure of beaches again.
In a press release issued today, the Ministry stated that while it is expected that persons will remove their masks to bathe in beach waters, they have noticed some members of the public not wearing masks while on the shorelines of Maracas Bay.

The Government says they are seeking to ensure that the recent gains in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic are maintained. Therefore, they are depending on the cooperation of the public so that this recent relaxation in the public health measures will not have to be re-considered and that beaches can remain open, for everyone’s benefit.
