Kelon Browne of Black Rock Tobago was arrested and charged with the offences of Wounding with Intent, Possession of Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Firearm to Endanger Life, Possession of Ammunition to Endanger Life.
During an altercation in Black Rock Tobago last week, Browne shot at the victim and injured the victim’s right leg.
The following is a press release from Trinidad and Tobago Police Service on the charges.
“A 28 year old Welder of School Road, Black Rock , appeared before the Scarborough Magistrate Virtual Court on Thursday 29th July 2021 having being charged for the offences of Wounding with Intent, Possession of Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Firearm to Endanger Life, Possession of Ammunition to Endanger Life.
Kelon Browne, was arrested on Saturday 24th July 2021 and subsequently charged on Thursday 29th July 2021 in relation to the incident which occurred on Wednesday 21st July 2021.
It is alleged that around 12:15pm on Wednesday 21st July 2021, the victim was standing along Main Road Black Rock when an altercation occurred between himself and Browne. Browne subsequently returned armed with a firearm, and fired one shot at the victim, injuring the victim’s right leg.
The victim was later taken to the Scarborough General Hospital and a report made to the Shirvan Road Police.
Investigations were conducted and Browne was charged. He was granted bail with surety in the sum of $100,000.00 or a cash alternative of $15,000.00, with conditions, he is to report to the Shirvan Road Police Station every Saturday and keep fifty feet away from the victim. He will reappear at the Court on Tuesday 24th August 2021.
Acting Sergeant Gordon Pollard of the Shirvan Road Police Station laid the charges.”
