Woman arrested, police seize gun and military gear

A 37-year-old woman was arrested by police after a shotgun and military-issued backpack were found during an exercise in Morvant.
According to police reports, during the exercise, two search warrants were executed for firearms and ammunition at a family compound at Paris Boulevard, Morvant.

While nothing mentioned in the warrant was found on the premises, officers discovered one green backpack, which appeared to be military issued, containing a pair of camouflage combat trousers and an army kit bag at the home of one of the persons mentioned in the warrant.

The 37-year-old woman was arrested. The officers also conducted a search of an overgrown area on the eastern side of the residence and found one homemade shotgun concealed in a pipe.

The exercise was spearheaded by ACP (Ag.) Andy Belfon, Snr Supt (Ag.) Winston Maharaj, ASP Pariman and ASP (Ag.) Beharry. It was coordinated by Insp Bharath and Sgt (Ag.) Martin and supervised by Cpl Daniel and Cpl (Ag.) Duncan.
