Police are searching for a man who attacked and sexually assaulted a 28-year-old woman with a hammer in washroom area in her yard.

The assault reportedly took place on Friday morning while her five children were locked inside the house.

According to a report, between 8 am and 9 am on Friday 7 April 2021, the victim was at the back of her home in the washroom area with her 11-year-old stepson, when two men entered the driveway.

She shouted to her stepson to close the door and he locked himself inside the house, together with his four younger siblings.  One of the men reportedly placed a knife to her neck and demanded money and jewellery.  She said she did not have any.

He then ordered her to instruct the children to open the door, but she refused as she feared for their lives. The assailant—who is described as having a receding hairline and is believed to be in his 30s—dealt her several blows about the body, causing her to fall to the ground.  He then reportedly climbed on top of her, took a gun front his pants waist and forced it in her mouth. The man threatened to shoot her if she screamed and then proceeded to sexually assault her with his other hand, as well as a metal hammer which was stored in the washroom area.

In an attempt to defend herself, the woman kicked him. Her attacker became enraged and reportedly took a keg of gasoline, which was stored in the washroom area and began to pour the liquid on her.

The victim’s stepson reportedly then shouted, “The Police almost reach!” and both suspects ran off.

Ste Madeleine Police are investigating.
