
A woman who was detained after a building along Independence Square, Port-of-Spain, was set on fire, has been released pending further inquiries.
Guardian Media was told that the 41-year-old woman was allowed to leave the Besson Street police station on Wednesday evening.
The woman was detained on Tuesday following the fire which left 11 people homeless.
Police were initially told that the fire came after the woman and her 54-year-old landlord had a confrontation in the apartment.
Investigations are continuing.
