A 25-year-old woman has reported to police that she was kidnapped by a man who hit her vehicle from behind, before bundling her back into her vehicle when she came out. He then drove off.

She told police she jumped out of the moving vehicle in Carlsen Field to escape when the incident occurred around 7.45 am Friday.

Residents said this seemed to be a recent regular occurrence in the area and are warning motorists not to stop, but instead drive straight to the police station to make a report.

One resident, who wished not to be identified, said people are lurking in the area and are either hurling objects at passing vehicles or causing accidents with their vehicles, hoping for drivers to stop before attacking and robbing them.

Police said the woman was driving her vehicle along Thompson Road, Palmiste when a brown Nissan B12 suddenly collided with her car.

The driver of the Nissan B12 then exited his car, but while the two were exchanging information, he allegedly pushed her inside of her vehicle and entered her car. He then drove the vehicle a short distance away to Cashew Gardens.

The victim became afraid and jumped out of the moving vehicle, raised an alarm and was assisted by residents who notified the police and Ambulance Services.

The suspect eventually abandoned the victim’s vehicle and escaped on foot.

The woman was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility where she was medically treated and examined.

A party of police officers visited the scene and processed the woman’s vehicle.

Anyone with information which could lead to the arrest of the individual is asked to contact the Longdenville Police Station, or give information anonymously through 555, 800-TIPS, or via the TTPS App or by messaging 482-GARY.
