The International Women’s Resource Network (IRWN) says ” fear shame and unwarranted power must be removed from domestic violence.

In response to a 29-year-old mother of four who was chopped to death early this morning the Network says that “peace belongs to each and every one of you and once that peace is being violated through acts of domestic violence either verbally or physically, you have a moral responsibility to raise a flag and seek help.”

The following is a press release from the International Women’s Resource Network:

“FEAR, SHAME AND UNWARRANTED POWER MUST BE REMOVED FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE” Once again the country has lost another innocent woman – 29 year old Sharane Kelly, a mother of four children was chopped to death early this morning allegedly by a close relative.

For years, the country has witnessed incidents where perpetrators who seemingly feel an unwarranted sense of power, take their own lives after murdering their spouses and/or partners; such behavioural pattern denotes that there are clusters of MEN in this society who just DON’T CARE when their minds are made up to commit their dastardly acts.

The IWRN is again bending on its KNEES and pleading with WOMEN that PEACE belongs to each and every one of you and once that peace is being violated through acts of domestic violence either verbally or physically, you have a moral responsibility to raise a flag and seek help.

The organization further warns that in spite of the large number of cases of domestic violence, it’s finding that still too many WOMEN prefer to remain silent for a number of reasons including shame, fear and victimization either by relatives, neighbors, friends or even strangers.

The IWRN is currently updating its recommendations forwarded to the Attorney-General Faris Al Rawi in June 2018 to properly treat with protection orders, fines and penalties. A proposal is also being forwarded to the Hon. Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley for subsidized housing for victims of abuse and their children.
